CPMC Education Department Thanks Auxiliary Team for New Trauma Manikin

The Cabinet Peaks Medical Center Education Department extends its heartfelt gratitude to the CPMC Auxiliary Team for their generous donation that funded the purchase of a new trauma manikin, affectionately named Fred.

Fred is available around the clock to support hands-on learning and help build staff confidence and competence in a safe and supportive environment. This important addition allows healthcare professionals and students to practice life-saving skills in controlled, realistic scenarios before using them in real patient care.

A trauma manikin is a vital educational tool in a hospital setting. It provides opportunities to train in airway management, bleeding control, chest decompression, and rapid trauma assessment. By simulating high-pressure situations, it strengthens decision-making, teamwork, and clinical performance. Regular practice with a trauma manikin ensures staff remain prepared to respond quickly and effectively during true medical emergencies. “The Auxiliary’s contribution makes a direct and meaningful impact on the care we provide,” said Carolyn Griffin, RN, BSN, CPMC Health Educator. “Resources like Fred help us continue to improve skills, elevate patient safety, and remain ready for whatever comes through our doors.”

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center extends sincere appreciation to the Auxiliary Team for their continued dedication and support in advancing healthcare education and excellence in the community.
