Cabinet Peaks Medical Center Welcomes Rehab Manager
Cabinet Peaks Medical Center (CPMC) is pleased to announce the addition of Neil Verberne, PT, DPT, as the new Rehabilitative Services Manager. With more than 10 years of experience as a physical therapist and 8 years in management, Neil brings strong leadership and a passion for advancing rehabilitation care in rural communities.
Neil earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Eastern Washington University and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound. He is currently completing his Master of Business Administration to further strengthen his leadership in healthcare administration.
Before joining CPMC, Neil served as the Rehabilitation Manager for Public Hospital District #2 in Ritzville, Washington, where he oversaw physical, occupational, and speech therapy services across inpatient, outpatient, and school-based settings. He was instrumental in developing their swing bed program and leading professional development initiatives for medical and rehabilitation staff.
At CPMC, Neil plans to build on the department’s strong foundation by focusing on improving access, reducing barriers, and enhancing the patient experience. “My goal is to strengthen the connection between patients and our therapy team,” said Verberne. “That means improving referral response times, matching patients with therapists who best fit their needs, and ensuring appointment availability. I also want to partner closely with other departments to improve discharge planning and help patients stay healthier, longer. With our new rehab facility coming soon, there’s an incredible opportunity to expand community education and access to care.”
“Neil possesses a wide range of knowledge and experience that will enhance our Rehabilitative services, “said Teegardin. "His leadership background and commitment to patient outcomes will play a crucial role as we get ready to move into our new, state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility. We are excited to have him join the CPMC team."
When asked what drew him to Libby and CPMC, Neil shared that the hospital’s commitment to keeping care local made a lasting impression.“CPMC’s interdepartmental organization, facility cleanliness, and focus on maintaining healthcare within the community really stood out to me,” he said. “It’s clear that this hospital is proactive and responsive in a time when many rural facilities face financial and operational challenges.”
The addition of Neil Verberne comes at an exciting time for Cabinet Peaks Medical Center as the organization continues “Building for the Future.” Construction is already underway on CPMC’s new, state-of-the-art Rehabilitative Services Building, which is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2026. This investment represents CPMC’s ongoing commitment to providing exceptional, accessible care and ensuring that high-quality healthcare remains close to home for the people of Libby and the surrounding communities.
